On May 30, the first equipment lifting operation was successfully completed by the “WAS” project team in Turaif, Saudi Arabia. Two acid coolers, each weighing 21.5 tons, were set into position one after another, marking the start of mechanical erection stage.
The preparation leading up to this lifting operation was choreographed in such a way that the inspection was conducted upon arrival of the equipment, and erection of the equipment commenced in earnest upon unloading, minimizing the storage and handling time and cost, while mitigating potential damage during storage. This approach serves as the “benchmark” for future lifting endeavors.
