1 Million Man-hours LTI-free and Largest Concrete Pouring at Ma’aden’s “WAS” Project

On March 17, the “WAS project team along with EPCM and Owner teams in Turaif, Saudi Arabia celebrated the achievement of 1 million safe man-hours Lost Time Injury (LTI) free and completion of the largest concrete pouring.

The LTI-free milestone was achieved thanks to the combined efforts of the team.  The value of Safety First was lived by the team across the board, from management staff to construction workers.

The largest concrete pouring of 2,717 CUM for the raw water pond as part of the OSBL (outside battery limits) package was completed in 40 hours between March 15 and 16 and involved four concrete pump trucks and three shifts of workers. The pond entails the largest civil construction works at the WAS project. And the pouring was completed following large amount of early works.

These achievements were celebrated at a cake ceremony. Worley’s Project Director Jamil commented, “Well done to all involved!” The team shared the cake and the joy of achieving these milestones as we look forward to more achievements at the project in the days and months to come.
