A big shout-out to team of EPC Project Replace Main Compressor at Ras Tanura Refinery (RTR)! They have achieved progresses including obtaining Client approvals for relevant procedures covering the Project Organization Chart, Key Personnel List, Deliverables List, and MR List. Three site visits were conducted by the detailed design contractor KBR-AMCDE. The FEED verification has been progressing as planned.

This is the first EPC project undertaken by SNEI at RTR. With a contract price of 160 million US dollars and a schedule of 1,020 days, the scope entails the installation of two reciprocating compressors and associated systems to replace the three existing compressors.

Since the contract award in December 2024, the project team started early activities in earnest. Multiple Aramco approved General Engineering Services Plus (GES+) contractors were approached. Following a rigorous selection process, the detailed design contract was awarded to KBR-AMCDE. The detailed design kick-off meeting was held with KBR-AMCDE in early January 2025. As of now, out of 71 material requisitions (MRs), the team has floated 11, for long-lead items (LLIs), followed with on-going clarifications with vendors. Going forward, the team will push hard to achieve submission of the 30% detailed design package.
