Storage and Transportation Branch Conducts Job-specific English Training

At 13:00 on March 22, 2025, the Human Resources Department and the Youth League General Branch Committee of the Storage and Transportation Branch conducted the sixth session of tanks and pipelines job-specific English training.

In this training session, Project Manager Wang Xian, who has amassed ten years of vast experiences in overseas construction, was invited as a speaker. During the training, Manager Wang made an in-depth sharing centered on the work permit system. Leveraging his years of hands-on experiences in overseas projects, Manager Wang shared his insights on the challenges, solutions, highlights, final thoughts and glossary of the work permit system for different construction activities, offering valuable knowledge to the participants of the training.

Next up is Shakil Ahmed, who is studying at Yangzhou University, and is invited to this training where he shared his fitness insight and health-specific knowledge. From a professional perspective, he highlighted healthy ways of fitness, the positive impacts of fitness on physical and mental health, and how to enhance physical fitness through dietary regimes and healthy lifestyles, offering “food” for thought for everyone to take care of their health exercises in their spare time from work.

Following a glossary game, the class was divided into three groups, one based in Maqun office, and two based in jobsites. During the workshop discussions, the classroom burst into a lively place where the group members stepped forward to share their ideas. Some, capitalizing on their previous experiences, elaborated on challenges presented by confined space entry, while others highlighted the solutions of the work permit process according to safety regulations and specification. Shakil Ahmed joined the Maqun group. He listened carefully, nodded in agreement from time to time, and came up with his opinions: "In international projects, for work permit for confined space entry, in addition to paying attention to the routine risk assessment, the impact of environmental factors should also be taken into account. For spaces with high humidity and poor ventilation, special protection and monitoring measures are required." He fluently shared international best practices, which are thought-provoking perspectives for everyone to engage in in-depth discussions. The group discussions were followed by group presentations. Shakil Ahmed represented his group and went on stage. After meticulously bringing together his ideas, he started the presentation in a straightforward and concise manner. The content was presented in a professional way, highlighting both regulatory compliance requirements and international best practices. His wonderful presentation won bursts of applause from the audience, enabling everyone to have a more comprehensive and profound understanding of the work permit system for confined space entry.

This English training program is like a beacon that sheds light on knowledge and insights, illuminating the path of employees' professional growth and the expansion of their horizons. Manager Wang Xian reflected on his experiences with the work permit system in Kingdom. Shakil Ahmed highlighted his insights on health and well-being, and the topic-specific term were included in a glossary game to reinforce the context-based memory of fellow trainees, and the workshop discussions and presentations on confined space entry permit, lifting work permit and excavation work permit were conducted in an engaging way. All these parts are designed to offer an immersive learning experience to the employees. This training stands as a testament to the Branch's commitment to nurturing a talent pipeline and pursuit of international growth. During the training, knowledge from different fields merged, and local experiences are combined with international perspectives, fostering employees' innovative mindset and passion, facilitating language upskilling in construction, wellbeing, and cross-cultural communication.

Going forward, what has been learned in the training will take root and thrive in the employees' work practice like seeds. They will more professionally follow the work permit system to ensure the safe and efficient progress of construction projects; they will throw themselves into their work with a healthier body and a more positive attitude; and with a broader international perspective, they will help the Branch to drive change and innovation whiling participating in global market competition. Building on these training efforts, the Storage and Transportation Branch will further enhance the training experiences for employees, build more communication platforms, empower employees in their professional growth, and propel the Branch to achieve the next level of excellence in the industry, move forward with drive, innovation, attitude and collaboration, and write a wonderful chapter of shared growth for both the Branch and its employees.
