Recently, the “WAS” project team have successfully completed the concrete pouring of frame columns in the concentration area of the phosphoric acid plant (PAP) of Saudi Arabian Mining Company in the northern part of Saudi Arabia, enabling the start of subsequent construction works for above-ground main structures.

As a vital part of the phosphoric acid production process, the concentration area is of great concern to the Owner and the EPC Contractor. The construction team tackled challenges presented by the large-scale scaffolding and constrained pouring speed by figuring out ingenious solutions including a purpose-built chute to assist the concrete pump truck during concrete pouring, and the deployment of two pump trucks simultaneously in the double-column area to address the formwork swelling issue. A big shout-out to our all-nighters’ hard work which made it possible to finish the pouring by 1:00a.m., laying the groundwork for the construction of the main structures in the plant.
