SNEMEC Wraps up Pressure Testing of the Last Two Flare Gas Lines for Marjan Project

On November 12, the pressure test of the last two large-bore flare gas lines for Marjan Project were successfully completed by Sinopec Nanjing Engineering Middle East Co., Ltd. (SNEMEC), marking the end of the pressure test package in the greenfield area and laying a solid foundation for the smooth close-out and completion of the project.

The pressure test package involves 56-inch and 48-inch carbon steel pipelines, with a test pressure of 31 bar, a cumulative total of more than 5,500 cubic metres of water, and a cumulative length of more than 7 kilometres. The project team strictly complied with Saudi Aramco's standards and specifications, strengthened the monitoring of pressure, temperature difference and pipeline conditions, carefully inspected the pipelines and repeatedly tested the equipment to ensure that the pressure test was safe and reliable, and that every detail was accurately controlled. Given the large diameter and distance of the pipelines, large amount of water supply, and interlacing of brown and green areas, the project department made meticulous planning, ensured the water supply, and took uninterrupted water supply operation, completed the test in only 7 days, passed the strength and tightness test, culminating in the acceptance by Aramco's quality inspection department, which won the recognition of the Owner.
