SNEMEC Readies Pipe Fabrication Shop for Operation

On August 7th, a walk-down was conducted for the pipe fabrication shop being built by SNEMEC, marking the close-out stage of the construction.

As of now, tests for fabrication machinery and inspections for temporary electricity fire safety are completed. Tests are being conducted for the air-conditioning system, CCTV, public address intercom, and fire alarm systems. Furniture is being installed, and punch list items are being cleared as planned.

Implementation of the project started in December 2023, which took 10 months to finish the basic engineering design, detailed engineering design, procurement, and construction, thanks to the attention placed by the company's leadership and guidance from relevant functional departments. The project team tackled challenges including shortfall of management personnel, an aggressive schedule, and stringent requirements by the Royal Commission (RC). To drive the progress of the project, the team took proactive steps to make sure things are going on as planned. Liaison with RC was properly handled to win support from RC particularly during project commencement and acceptance. The project team invited the RC inspection team to conduct a preliminary inspection in advance, which paved the way for the final acceptance by RC.
