SNEI Saudi Branch Awarded Civil Package of Saudi Aramco’s SRU Upgrade Project

On October 5, SNEI Saudi Branch (BSNEI) was awarded the civil package of Saudi Aramco’s SRU upgrade project, with a contract value of 199 million Saudi Riyal. The award marks the first order in Q4 as the Branch is launching a full-swing operation campaign.

The work is part of a SRU upgrade project of Ras Tanula refinery to meet the latest emission regulation by the Saudi government in January 2021, which mandates a more stringent emission of 0.05% SO2 from the existing SRUs as opposed to 3-5%. The scope consists of civil construction, underground pipe installation and structural steel erection.

To win the bid, the Branch’s EP2 team conducted multiple site surveys, and building on experiences from ongoing projects, localization advantages, effective flagging of risks, an accurate proposal was prepared. The team conducted multiple negotiations with the Client to secure the award.

Since gaining a toehold in the Ras Tanura market in 2018, the Branch has undertaken 14 contracts including BI-163, BI-1526, BI-475 and TR-AP11. This award marks the first big contract by BSNEI since it was established as a Branch of SNEI in the Kingdom following the overseas policy shift by SNEI’s parent company SEG. The award is a testament to the Branch’s construction expertise and the commitment to delivering values to our customer.
