On April 17, 2023, the Rabigh 300 MW solar plant was successfully energized, marking the start of commissioning activities of SNEI’s first overseas renewable energy project.

The project is one of the important clean energy projects of Saudi "Vision 2030". SNEI’s scope consists of electrical installation works for the 110 kV substation, installation works for 13 box-type substations, 184,815 solar panels and 121 km MV and LV cables. The project schedule is 208 days.

The pre-commissioning activities were completed half a month ahead of schedule, thanks to meticulous preparation and concerted efforts by the project team in the face of some serious challenges to execute such amount of works deep in the desert of Saudi Arabia. The successful transformer energization demonstrates SNEI’s professional installation services and commitment to aligning future growth with the renewable energy development in Saudi Arabia.
