On December 20, tie-in activities GR-U006 and GR-U014 for underground fire water pipes of PKG3 of MARJAN Oil and Gas Expansion Project in Saudi Arabia were completed.
GR-U006 and GR-U014 are the first tie-in activities of the MARJAN Project. On December 12, the EPC Contractor instructed these two tie-in activities to be finished by December 18. Given the aggressive schedule, heavy workload, the project team meticulously developed the procedures covering the preparation of tie-in packages, material receiving, site survey, pipe spool fabrication, installation, among others. One thing in particular is GRE pipeline joining, as each layer needs time for the adhesive to cure before application to the next layer. Given this special requirement, the project team developed detailed construction methods, made the most of available resources to achieve construction efficiency, and completed the tie-ins by the evening of December 20, ahead of schedule.
The early completion of tie-ins is recognized by the Owner and the EPC Contractor, has earned the trust and appreciation by them, and has amassed experiences for the subsequent execution of such tie-ins. The project team will continue to participate in SNEI's full-swing operation themed "Good Start, Excellent Execution, and Leading MARJAN Project" by achieving safety, quality, progress and cost efficiency.
