After continuous efforts, in the afternoon of October 24, the Saudi EP2 Project Department BI-902 successfully realized the one-time connection of 4 packages (13, 14, 15 and 62) with the fire control pipe network in the plant area, marking that the fire control pipe network of the relevant production units was successfully switched to the new line after revamp.

The BI-902 interconnection of new and old pipelines is a key timeline of the project and also a construction difficulty of the project. It is difficult to construct and has high safety requirements. As the valves of the old line are out of repair for a long time, they can’t be completely closed, and there is no complete drawing reference for the underground pipe network. The owner of Aramco proposed that "zero" leakage must be achieved in this revamp. In this situation, EP2 project team sat up a special team for interconnection to tackle key problems, focusing on solving difficult construction problems. They conducted field exploration with the owner's PMT team and workshop team for many times, and tried to find operable valves along the pipe network for closing test. The active coordination won the strong support of the PMT team and workshop team, and got the on-site guidance of Aramco senior technicians and production operators. All work permits were issued on site in the form of green channels, simplifying the cumbersome approval procedures and speeding up the construction progress.

The new and old pipelines were successfully interconnected at one time, which was highly recognized by the owner. The project achieved 92% of the total progress, which also sounded the call of a sprint for the next step of underground old pipelines’ removal and ground pipelines’ construction. As Saudi Arabia entered to the golden construction season, the Project Department carefully organized and effectively allocated resources, leading all staff to work together to achieve the completion delivery goal. And they continued to win the recognition of the owner with professional project execution ability and good working attitude, making new contributions to the company's deep exploration of Saudi Aramco market.
