In the evening of September 21st, the Saudi EP2 Project Team made an all-out effort to perform the concrete pouring for BI-475 project, covering fire equipment foundations in Zone 3 and the concrete pavement in Zone 4 and Zone 5. By 00:00 of September 22nd, after eight hours of non-stop work, the team completed concrete pouring for foundations of 12 fire monitors, 8 fire hydrants, 8 fire boxes, and 248m2 pavement. The total volume of concrete poured is 60m3.
The BI-475 project involves upgrading 78 segments of the fire protection system at Juaymah Plant. The project involves a large amount of civil work, including the excavation and backfilling of 25,000m3 earthworks, the demolition and restoration of a large areas of pavement, the removal of existing fire protection equipment and fire protection pipelines in the plant, the installation of new equipment and pipelines, and the concrete pouring of equipment foundation. Given the tight schedule, heavy workload and stringent requirements, our client Aramco, appointed a full management team to oversee the execution with high expectations for this project.
The existing plant of Aramco involves stringent safety requirements, and complicated procedures of work permit, especially for night work. In order to meet the concrete pouring conditions on time and complete the work on schedule, the project team has successfully obtained the supply commitment for concrete and the work permit for night work after many positive coordination with the concrete suppliers, Aramco PMT and Aramco plant.
As of now, the project has completed 9 of 12 segments released by the Client in the first stage, with the remaining 3 segments at tail end. The project team is concentrating resources to open new segments, moving forward according to the established schedule, accelerating the progress, confirming the workload, and collecting progress payment simultaneously, so as to truly win the reputation through efforts.
