On  June 16, construction commenced for the main EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate  copolymer) unit of Jiangsu Sailboat project.

The  unit consists of two production lines, 100kt/a and 200kt/a ethylene-vinyl  acetate copolymers. The project starts from April 1, 2014, and mechanical  completion is expected on December 31, 2015, with a construction period of 640  days. The unit involves a very compact layout and high complexity of lifting;  high pipe pressure up to 2600bar, high difficulty in welding and hydrotest, and  high risks.

Roads  are the first to be built for the main unit. Currently, the project management  team is making arrangement according to the schedule to make sure all milestones  for the commenced activities will be achieved on schedule.
