From  May onward, Hainan region has been persistently plagued by high temperature,  with the highest temperature of 38℃  and above at noon time, workers are easy to suffer a heatstroke if they work  outdoors for a long period of time. To ensure the safety of workers working at  the construction site and further implement the requirements of the “Safety  Month” and let the site management and operation personnel understand how to  correctly cope with unexpected heatstroke incident, Vopak/SDIC Storage Terminal  project office organized employees of the specialized companies, contractors and  subcontractors to carry out heatstroke emergency response drill at the tank farm  on June 18. The whole process afforded to the employees on general knowledge of  first-aid for heatstroke.

On  June 19, the Utilities Project Department at the site of Refinery Revamp of  Sinopec Yangzi Company organized an emergency response drill of first-aid for  electric shock of employees on site. Through a couple of processes such as  electric shock emergency relief, temporary treatment, incident reporting,  organizing first-aid, etc., an emergency response plan for the site electric  shock accident was thoroughly drilled, and the expected goals were achieved. The  drill effectively implemented the safety production policy “Safety First,  Prevention Foremost” and the precautionary measures in dealing with unexpected  incident developed by the Project Department, capability of the Project  Department in handling and disposing unexpected safety incident was enhanced.  

On  June 20, Yangtze-BASF GAA Unit organized an emergency evacuation drill on  contingent spill of adjacent unit according to the actual situation of the site.  Given the fact that there are already a number of built units in the perimeter  of GAA unit, which are adjacent to each other, it came up an urgent and thorny  problem for the Project Department as how to evacuate quickly and effectively  the people on site and to ensure life safety of the on-site people in case of  spill occurrence. The emergency evacuation drill this time was to do well in the  contingency plan for the possible emergency conditions, aiming at strengthening  on-site people’s abilities in risk identification and avoiding, acquainting  themselves with the on-site emergency response procedures and emergency  evacuation routes, as well as augmenting their on-site emergency responsiveness.
