Performance Assessment on Non-Chinese Employees

In  the afternoon of  November 2, Performance assessment on non-Chinese employees of SNEI was  successfully held in the Saudi Aramco  hydrocracker project department for  the first time.  The HR supervisor, HR administrators in relevant  organizations and eight Nepalese examinees have participated in the assessment  activity. The  assessment consisted of two parts:  written test and  practical operation on  site, and the assessment lasted for two hours; staff that passed  the assessment will  be promoted from general workers to assistant scaffolders. The  success of assessment has provided experience for constantly improving the  performance assessment system in the future, and this also indicates that the  company’s expatriate management has stepped into a new  stage.

With  the rapid  development of overseas business, SNEI has directly  recruited 300 persons from countries  such as India, Niebuhr in 2011  and 2012 to fill in posts in the Saudi Branch  Company  and  the direct operations on quality,  construction,  logistics management,  on-site pipeline,  electrical,  instrument, scaffolding, etc.  of various projects; The total foreign employees working in Saudi is almost 500 including the original  foreign staff. While the non-Chinese employees play an increasingly  important role, they also have strong  desire in their personal career  development. How to  strengthen international personnel  training, build various types  of development path for non-Chinese employees, and enhance the attractiveness to non-Chinese  employees have become a  challenge in Saudi Branch Company and each project team.

Based  on the thorough survey and following SNEI Talent Growth  Channel Implementation  Measures and Non-Chinese Employees Management  Measures of Saudi  Branch Company,  Saudi Branch Company has issued the Implementation  Measures for Building the Non-Chinese  Employees  Development Path  (Trial),  Non-Chinese Employee  Performance  Assessment  Measures (Trial),  Salary and Benefits Management  Measures (Trial)  for Non-Chinese Employee  " and so on, which has improved the management of foreign employees.  Saudi  Aramco hydrocracker project  department,  as  a large team  with more  than 300 expatriate,  strictly abides by the  relevant provisions of the Branch in the day-to-day  work and follow  the principle  of  “one family,  one  mind”;  the Branch has attached  great importance to the development  of  expatriates,  and innovatively carried  out  various activities such as expatriate mentorship pairing, expatriate sports associations  and other activities  to enhance the  cohesion of the team and  accelerate the growth of the expatriates.  In  order to ensure the smooth  progress of the assessment,  the Saudi Branch  Company,  the project  team and  related construction  organizations have done quite a lot of preparatory work,  Saudi Branch  Company held  a special meeting  and made arrangement on assessment work,  and the project team  worked together with the relevant construction contractors to  carefully prepare job  description and  written test &  practical operation  database,  to ensure  a serious,  effective  and standardized assessment.

The  employees who have passed the assessment will get job promotion and their salary  and benefits will be increased as well. Before the 10th of this  month, the performance assessment on assistant foreman, assistant electrician  and assistant instrument technician will be gradually carried out. The project  team will complete the approval procedure by the 15th of this month,  and by the end of the month, Saudi Branch will sign the supplementary agreements  with the non-Chinese employees to complete the entire performance assessment  activity.
