Beihai project department of SNEI held a morning meeting on safety protection at the feed pre-treatment unit a few days ago, which was participated by all staff members of over 1,300. The topic of the meeting was “Love life and reject any rule violation”.

Since the Chinese New Year, Beihai Project has fully entered into its construction peak, activities such as civil works winding up, steel structure erections, installation of equipment and pipelines are ongoing in a simultaneous way, so safety risks are increasing daily. To provide timely and effective safety protection for construction, the project department has intensified its safety management by firmly and meticulously grasping production safety to ensure the project can be operated in a safe, stable and highly efficient way.

By seizing the opportunity of initiative “creation of a safe construction site”, the project department carried out its safe production policy of “safety first, precaution utmost and comprehensive management” and established an extensive and in-depth HSE management network: Clarifying roles and responsibilities of each individual with “division of responsible areas”, providing solid site entrance inculcations and professional training about confined spaces, lifting operations and scaffolding erections to enhance employees’ safety awareness and safety protection quality, strengthening site safety supervision by highlighting inspections on observance of work permit procedures and safety measures implementation, and correcting rule violations and rule-violating directions. Adhering to the joint implementation of random inspection, weekly and monthly inspections on safety, and eliminating any safety issues identified during the inspections in a timely manner to wipe out any potential safety risks, and reinforcing sunstroke prevention and temperature reduction measures as well as water drainage and flood control actions, which are directly targeted at the climatic features in Beihai region, such as the hot and rainy weather there.

Through adoption of a series of effective measures, project department of SNEI has guaranteed the highly efficient operation of its HSE management and promoted project progress. Up to now, the project department has achieved a safety performance of 1.5 million man-hours in total.
