Sinopec Nanjing Engineering Co., Ltd. (SNEI) was honored to host the visit of 15 international students from Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute (YPI) to get acquainted with SNEI head office. The tour was conducted by the Organization Department of the CPC Committee (Human Resources Department) of SNEI, and accompanied by two YPI management. SNEI’s Mr. Zhou Yingguan, Executive Director and Secretary of CPC Committee, Mr. Peng Fucheng, Deputy General Manager, and Mr. Chen Yunxiang, Deputy Chief Economist and Director of the Organization Department of the CPC Committee (Human Resources Department), participated in the event.
The tour started from SNEI showroom, where the international students learned the history and track record of SNEI. The next stop was the Piping Department, where Engineer Li Dong presented a transformational journey “From Drawing Board to Reality” showcasing an Intergraph Smart 3D model of a Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU).
In the Safety Control Center, the students were given a virtual tour of a jobsite hundreds of miles away - Tianjin Nangang Acrylonitrile Project. Via live streaming, the students took a panoramic view of construction activities being performed to build a large-scale petrochemical plant. At the other end of the camera, Project Manager Mr. Wang Xiaoda at the jobsite highlighted the actual construction progress versus the virtual 3D model.
To give the international students a culinary and cultural feel of the Mid-Autumn Festival, shows and mooncake baking were offered with the theme of “Sharing This Moment Together, No Matter How Far Away You Are From”, which is part of a Chinese poem read out by a young SNEI employee. Another employee played a traditional tune “Horse Racing” with erhu, a traditional Chinese musical instrument. The international students staged singing and dancing before they had a hand-on experience with the mooncake making guided by the bakery master.
Mid-Autumn is the time of year to celebrate harvest. Cultivated with years of efforts, the collaborative relationship between YPI and SNEI came to fruition. This tour marks the beginning of the outreach program for these international students to get a first-hand experience with SNEI’s corporate culture and prepare for their future career with the Company.
