Pipe Erection Commences at Abu Dhabi DBN Project

Recently, the first pipe spool piece of the Abu Dhabi DBN Project was erected, marking the progress of field erection works from civil and structural steel stage to the critical pipe erection stage.

The DBN Project is a critical part of ADNOC's strategy to increase production capacity by 2027. The piping works are a top priority in project construction. With total quantities of approximately 1.25 million dia-inches, the scope covers a large number of ultra-large-diameter manifolds, high-pressure and alloy steel pipes, entailing rigorous technical requirements and demanding organization. Tackling challenges including long approval cycles in the CICPA and Fieldglass systems, tight local resources for construction equipment and tools, and delayed delivery of large equipment, the project team planned ahead, secured core resources, optimized time-sheet and site-access procedures, properly divided the work fronts, and secured orderly sequences among civil works, structural steel erection and pipe prefabrication. The team also completed the translation and briefing of ADNOC specifications and the review of drawings and models, ensuring the precise positioning of the first pipe.

Going forward, the project team will continue to focus on safety, quality and progress controls, proceed with parallel operations of pipe prefabrication and field erection, and ensure that subsequent tasks are completed on schedule and with high quality.
